Our Roofing System
Our Roofing System
All homes have their own unique design, therefore not all roofs are the same. Although, roofing systems must work the same way: keeping a home safe from the outdoor elements. When the time comes to replacing a roof, it will be an investment for your home.
At Spartan Roofing, we strive to provide you with the most out of your investment. Our roof replacement projects consist of high quality materials, professional installation and we maintain communication during, and well after a job is completed.

A scheduled roof replacement estimate will undergo an inspection, following a detailed report on all the required work to be performed.
Keys components of a Roofing system include:
1. Ice & water shield membrane
2. Synthetic Underlayment
3. High quality Shingles
4. Roof Ventilation (attic ventilation)
5. Proper metal roof flashing (drip edge, valley)

What is ice and water shield?
It is a waterproof roof underlayment membrane developed to protect vulnerable areas on a roof from ice and water damage. Ice and water protectors (sometimes called ice and snow shields ) are made with polymer-modified bitumen. This is placed on the first 3 feet of roof deck, on any roofing valley, and along any part where a roof deck meets a wall or chimney brick.
What is drip edge flashing?
Drip edge is a metal flashing that is installed at the edges of the roof to help control the flow of water away from the fascia (located behind the eavestrough) and to protect the underlying roofing components. Drip edge overhangs the sides of the roof and has a small metal flange that is bent away from the fascia.
What is synthetic underlayment?
Synthetic underlayment is a layer of laminated polypropylene or polyethylene plastic material that goes over the roof deck. Its purpose is to provide an extra layer of protection to the roof system. This covers your entire roof and guarantees your roof is always protected. Colour may vary.
What is a roof valley?
A roof valley is formed where two slopes meet. Water collects in a valley to flow off the roof. Our system uses metal v-shaped flashing that is installed in the valley. This ensures water has no place to stay on the roof.
